Novell Server Repair

This guide is meant to be used by experienced personnel. Do not attempt any repairs if you feel that you are unqualified.

Novell Netware 3.12 -Server refuses to boot due to SYS volume not mounting.
    1. Get a floppy containing the following: VREPAIR.NLM, V_MAC.NLM, V_OS2.NLM. The floppy should also be bootable with the standard DOS utilities of FORMAT, FDISK, EDIT, and SYS.
    2. Bring the Server up to the colon prompt. Insert the floppy and type SEARCH ADD A:\
    3. Type LOAD VREPAIR.NLM. You should see the VREPAIR screen quickly.
    4. Alt ESC back to the colon prompt. Type LOAD V_MAC. Verify that V_MAC loaded.
    5. Alt ESC back to the colon prompt. Type LOAD V_OS. Verify.
    6. Alt ESC back to VREPAIR screen and select REPAIR VOLUME. Select SYS. If VREPAIR encounters an error it will pause and show you the error. You can hit F1 to change the "pause on error".
    7. Let VREPAIR fix SYS. Do not be alarmed if you see several hundred errors as it may reach a thousand or more.
